Born in the Bedford Stuyvesant section of Brooklyn, Access Immortal spent his formative years honing skill on the same streets that have given us Mos Def, Masta Ace, and the late great Biggie Smalls. Not waiting on the music industry Access took initiative in the summer of 2003 by releasing his self promoting mix CD Limited Edition, Where he brilliantly captivates an unfamiliar audience with his eclectic stylings somewhat reminiscent of an early Prodigy meets Talib Kweli combined with the spirit of a young Nas on Illmatic. Def Jukie Karniege and the legendary Stronghold's Poison Pen are only a few of Hip Hop's elite that can be heard flowing alongside Access on his street debut. Showcasing his stellar stage performances at CBGB's, SOB's, the Pyramid, Nightingales, and various venues throughout New York and Philadelphia, this rapper has left a trail of hungry fans anxious for another taste of his raw and refreshingly original talent. This thirst was later quenched in late 2004 when a mix tape style promo album surfaced entitled "The 9th Gate" in which interestingly enough was produced entirely by 9th Wonder.
Access is now scheduled to release his first official debut album on Early Spotter Recordings entitled, Shades of Reality. The album features production from J-Zone, 7-L, Insight, Green Steez, and long time production mate Vanderslice with vocal appearances from Gang Starr Foundation's Smiley the Ghetto Child, Oktober, Wordsworth, Breez Evahflowin, Karniege, Substantial, Loer Velocity, Young Sin, and Science. |
