| At age 31, the talented and multi-faceted Shed Light is far from a newcomer to hip hop. This Chelsea, Massachusetts native has spent many years performing at local shows in Boston opening up for old school legends such as Jaz-O and current underground heavy weights like Akrobatik. Shed went on to sign a dead end deal with a local Boston record label that kept his career on hold. When the term of his contractual obligations let up he was persistent to make a name for himself and continued to participate in numerous MC battles through out the New England area, including the infamous Super Bowl MC Battle, in 2003. Battle Rhymes being his forte, Shed still manages to cover a wide range of topics from heart felt songs about family love and loss to socially conscious joints. Shed is known for honing his craft at the likes of Boston Butta Beats and Scratchismz recording studios where he applies the principles of his influences which include Big Daddy Kane, Run DMC, and Gang Starr. |
